The objective was to design a space within the RISD Graduate Thesis Show which would exhibit the thesis work from Interior Architecture Department and express the spirit of Interior Architecture
Within the limited area, the design solution was to create a beam that spans across the exhibition space defining the viewing experience and circulation. A glass shelf for concept models, is suspended through cut outs of trace paper that were grouped and hung onto the 9-meter beam. Light shines through the slits of the beam and washes down the wall of trace paper. The result was a simple yet had a powerful effect to the space that contributed in defining the exhibition as well as the Department of Interior Architecture.
